Frequently asked questions...

I would like a new logo or branding. How does the design process work?

At first I like to get to know a bit more about you and your business. Once I have learnt a bit about you we can discuss together what I think would be the best design package, for your requirements and I will start researching and then designing!

What is the difference between a logo vs branding?

A logo is your company's icon, which can be a symbol, or graphical element that is easily recognisable. Branding is not just a logo, but uses particular fonts, colours, shapes, tone of voice, your values and imagery as a complete package, which makes your business recognisable and stand out!

How long do you take designing?

This will depend on the type of design work I am creating for you. I will advise you how long the work will approximately take, and this can also vary depending on the scale of the project. Once I have sent you the first proof, we can then make any  necessary edits. The timeline can also vary depending how quickly you get back to me. If you have a specific deadline which you need to meet, discuss this with me at the time of booking.

What information do I need to give you ?
Does your business have a logo or branding stye/guidelines already? If so, you will need to supply this information so I can design using those correct elements (such as fonts, colours and style). Other things to think about are:

• The copy (text) for the designed piece

• Do you have high resolution photos?

• How does your company represent themselves? Is it fun? Corporate? Innovative?

• What is the design you want me to create? Will it need to be printed at very small sizes? Or on a large format scale? Online?

What does high resolution mean?

Any imagery supplied to me (especially if it is design for print) will need to be supplied as 300dpi. (Digital images are made up of thousands of pixels, and the number of pixels in the image will determine how high the image’s resolution is) High resolution files are usually saved as .psd or .tiff files, but can also be .jpg or .png. Most images used online have been reduced to 72dpi, so if a 72dpi photo is printed it will be very small, and if blown up bigger would then become pixelated. If you are supplying a logo, then this is always best to be supplied as a vector.

What is a vector?

A vector graphic is artwork made up of points, lines, and curves that are based upon mathematical equations, rather than solid coloured square pixels. This means that no matter how large or small or how close you zoom in on the vector image, the lines, curves, and points remain smooth, and not pixelated. Vector files are usually saved as .eps or .ai file types.

What are your payment terms?

To start a project, I will require a non-refundable deposit of 50% as written in the contract. The remaining balance is due upon completion of your design project and you have approved the final proofs. I also offer payment plans for my branding packages, which I can discuss if you require. Once you have paid the full balance, I will release all designs to you in the file formats that are required.

Ok, I want to work together! What’s next?

Awesome! Please send me an email to info@crystalcreativedesigns.com or book in a call here and we can get the ball rolling.
